This Primary-Secondary Education leadership opportunity focuses on the strategic development of Arabic First and Second Language provision, curriculum quality, teaching standards, assessment, staff performance, and student achievement. The successful candidate will lead the Arabic department across Years 5 to 13, establish clear improvement priorities, strengthen Arabic language proficiency, and promote UAE culture and National Identity throughout the school. The role combines educational leadership with curriculum development, performance management, data analysis, quality assurance, and direct support for students and teaching staff.

Lead the development and regular review of appropriate schemes of work for students from Year 5 through Year 13. Ensure curriculum provision supports continuity and progression while responding effectively to diverse learning needs. Appropriate provision should be maintained for SEN, POD, gifted and talented, and EAL students. Create and lead a departmental vision that encourages innovative learning experiences and consistently high-quality educational outcomes. Ensure comprehensive curriculum coverage and promote effective progression in Arabic learning across the relevant year groups.
Take responsibility for leading the organization of International Benchmark Assessments and ensure assessment information contributes meaningfully to departmental improvement. Analyse student data to identify patterns and trends, inform curriculum planning, and determine appropriate interventions. Use evidence from assessment to support improved outcomes across different student groups. Provide targeted support and challenge for Emirati students in Arabic literacy to strengthen academic progression and preparation for post-secondary education.
Lead initiatives that strengthen Arabic language proficiency while developing students ' understanding of UAE culture and National Identity. Organize and participate in cultural activities and events, including Ramadan celebrations and Iftar, to encourage cultural understanding and unity across the school community. Promote the identity and importance of Arabic First and Second Language throughout the school.
Maintain appropriate oversight of the Arabic department budget and ensure resources are used effectively to support curriculum delivery and student learning. Develop and maintain learning environments aligned with school priorities and conducive to high-quality teaching and learning.
Serve as a tutor within the Middle and Senior School for Years 5 to 9, including registration and pastoral responsibilities. Contribute to the wider operation of the school through appropriate cover for absent colleagues, examination invigilation, and attendance at relevant school events. Some responsibilities may involve after-school or weekend examination invigilation and events when directed by the Principal. Undertake other appropriate duties assigned by the Principal.
The successful candidate should be capable of combining strategic educational leadership with effective day-to-day management of an Arabic department. The role requires the ability to establish high expectations, develop teaching staff, evaluate educational provision, manage departmental resources, and use evidence to drive improvement. Strong collaboration and communication are essential, together with a commitment to Arabic language development, UAE culture, National Identity, inclusive education, and sustained student achievement.
