Job summary

Compass Global Resourcing (CGR) is seeking a Head of Bridges for a busy Sharjah office. This senior management role will be accountable for the operational performance, technical and people leadership of the bridges team, with projects across the Middle East.

The ideal candidate will lead project management or project director duties on bridge design and construction, maintaining a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Must be chartered with a recognised international body (ICE UK, IStructE or PE US).
• Demonstrated expertise in design and project management of bridge and tunnel projects.

Job description

My client is a leading UK based engineering consultancy who have a long standing track record in the Middle East region. They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Bridges for their busy office in Sharjah. This is a senior management role and will be accountable for the operational performance, technical and people leadership of the bridges tea. working on projects across the Middle East region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the project management or project director role on various bridge design and construction projects. The position will call for a very hands on approach to all aspects of the role.

Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in civil or structural engineering must also be a chartered member of a recognised international body such as the institute of civil engineers (ICE) UK, the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Professional Engineer US. Candidates must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in the design and project management of bridge and tunnel projects including post tensioned box girder bridges and cut and cover tunnels. Candidates with a track record of working on the design of rail/metro stations including top down construction are preferred although this is not essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team as well as large, multi disciplinary engineering projects.
