HYF Medical Center is an international medical center located in Jumeirah 1, Dubai, providing premium healthcare services to local, international and VIP patients.
We are looking for an experienced, professional and responsible Head Nurse to lead and manage the nursing team and ensure high standards of patient care, clinical practice and nursing operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with doctors, clinical staff, administration and management to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality nursing services, while maintaining compliance with DHA requirements and UAE healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Nursing Team Management
- Lead, supervise and manage the nursing team.
- Coordinate daily nursing operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Prepare and manage nurses' duty rosters and schedules.
- Allocate nursing staff according to clinic workload and patient requirements.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality and performance.
- Provide guidance, support and professional leadership to nurses.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
2. Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Ensure high standards of patient care and nursing services.
- Supervise patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration and nursing procedures.
- Ensure nurses follow appropriate clinical protocols and procedures.
- Support doctors during consultations, treatments and medical procedures.
- Assist with minor procedures, aesthetic treatments and day-surgery services where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate preparation of treatment rooms and medical equipment.
- Provide support for VIP and international patients when required.
3. Nursing Quality & Patient Safety
- Maintain high standards of nursing quality and patient safety.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection and clinical hygiene practices.
- Monitor medication and medical supply management within the nursing department.
- Ensure proper documentation of nursing care and patient records.
- Identify and report clinical risks, incidents and safety concerns.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous quality improvement measures.
4. DHA & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure nursing staff maintain valid DHA licenses and required professional documents.
- Monitor staff compliance with DHA and UAE healthcare requirements.
- Ensure nursing practices comply with applicable healthcare regulations, policies and clinical standards.
- Maintain nursing-related documentation for inspections and audits.
- Assist management with DHA inspections and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper maintenance of nursing policies, protocols and standard operating procedures.
5. Staff Training & Development
- Conduct orientation and onboarding training for new nursing staff.
- Organize regular nursing training and clinical education.
- Monitor staff competency and identify training needs.
- Promote continuous professional development within the nursing team.
- Ensure nurses are familiar with emergency procedures, infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain records of staff training and competency assessments.
6. Emergency & Clinical Preparedness
- Ensure the nursing team is prepared to respond to medical emergencies.
- Maintain appropriate emergency equipment and supplies.
- Ensure emergency medications and equipment are checked regularly.
- Coordinate with doctors and clinical staff during emergency situations.
- Ensure nurses maintain valid BLS/ACLS certifications as required.
- Participate in emergency drills and clinical preparedness activities.
7. Medical Supplies & Equipment
- Monitor nursing-related medical supplies and consumables.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams regarding nursing supplies.
- Monitor expiry dates and storage conditions of medical supplies and medications.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of nursing equipment.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
8. Coordination with Doctors & Departments
- Work closely with physicians and other clinical departments.
- Coordinate nursing support for consultations, procedures and treatments.
- Communicate patient care requirements effectively with doctors and clinical teams.
- Coordinate with Administration, Insurance, Finance and other departments when required.
- Support efficient patient flow and overall clinic operations.
9. Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and complete nursing documentation.
- Monitor patient records and nursing notes.
- Prepare nursing reports and operational updates for management.
- Maintain records of incidents, training, staff competency and clinical activities.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure patient information and medical records remain confidential.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing qualification.
Valid DHA Nursing License or eligibility to obtain/maintain a DHA license.
5+ years of nursing experience, preferably with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Previous experience as a Head Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor is highly preferred.
Previous experience in a medical center, hospital, clinic or outpatient healthcare facility in the UAE is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and DHA requirements.
Experience managing nursing teams and clinical operations.
Strong knowledge of infection control, patient safety and nursing standards.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/HIS) is an advantage.
Valid BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is an advantage.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic reporting systems.
