Job summary

Right Calibre Consulting client is a leading UAE group seeking a Group IT Director to lead the technology function at Group level and partner with the CEO. The role is to build the function, modernise the technology environment and enable business growth through AI, cloud, data and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive IT / technology leadership experience.
• Experience in UAE-based organisations is essential.
• Experience managing IT within a group or multi-business environment.
• Proven track record of building and leading IT teams.
• Strong experience managing technology vendors, suppliers and external partners.
• Experience developing and implementing IT strategy at organisational or Group level.
• Strong understanding of modern enterprise technology, cloud, cybersecurity, data and digital platforms.
• Genuine AI literacy and ability to apply AI/automation practically.
• Experience leading technology transformation and modernisation programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness including budget ownership and vendor negotiations.
• Ability to communicate with CEOs, business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
• Pragmatic approach to distinguish real-value tech from trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Group's overall IT and technology strategy.
• Build, structure and lead a high-performing internal IT team.
• Assess the existing technology landscape and establish a roadmap for modernisation and growth.
• Lead digital transformation and technology improvement initiatives across the Group.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify where they create value.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, networks and technology operations.
• Establish IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management and business continuity.
• Manage technology budgets and ensure investment aligns with priorities and ROI.
• Act as the senior technology advisor to the CEO and leadership team.
• Lead vendor selection, negotiations, contracts and SLAs.
