Role Summary
The Graphics Designer creates clear, distinctive and brand-consistent visual communication for IMI's editorial, marketing, corporate, digital, social, print and event needs.
The role turns briefs into strong concepts, layouts, imagery and production-ready assets, working from established brand systems and templates, and is the studio's principal delivery capacity for routine and recurring design demand.
It is a craft development role with a defined progression path towards Senior Graphic Designer.
Responsibilities
- Develop visual concepts and deliver polished design solutions from approved briefs and brand objectives.
- Create assets for editorial stories, campaigns, social media, digital products, presentations, print, events and internal communications.
- Apply strong typography, layout, colour, image selection, hierarchy and information-design principles.
- Produce infographics, charts, maps and data visualisations to editorial brief, verifying the accuracy of the underlying data.
- Adapt master creative across formats, sizes, languages, channels, resolutions and accessibility requirements.
- Apply and extend established templates and design systems rather than rebuilding from scratch.
- Prepare production-ready artwork, source files, specifications and handover packages, including print-ready files and digital and social exports.
- Collaborate with Art Directors, motion designers, editors, producers, marketers, journalists and product teams.
- Source or create imagery responsibly and maintain accurate licences, credits, releases and usage records.
- Use AI-assisted tooling only within IMI's approved workflows, applying human creative judgement, verifying factual, visual and rights integrity of every output, and recording provenance.
- Maintain organised project files, naming conventions, version control, metadata, master assets and archive handover to departmental standards.
- Manage multiple assignments, act on review feedback promptly, and communicate risks and brief gaps early.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Design Manager or Graphic Design Team Leader.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of professional graphic design experience in an agency, publishing, broadcast or in-house studio environment.
- A current portfolio demonstrating role-relevant creative and technical capability.
- Solid design fundamentals in typography, colour, layout, composition and hierarchy.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; working knowledge of Figma.
- Working knowledge of Arabic and Latin bilingual typography and layout.
- Understanding of digital, social, print and accessibility output specifications and export requirements.
- Ability to work accurately within an existing brand system and template set.
- Basic After Effects or motion capability is an advantage.
- Practical familiarity with AI-assisted ideation and production tooling, including verification of outputs and responsible-use requirements.
- Awareness of copyright, image licensing, credits and releases.
- Strong attention to detail, disciplined file and version management, and reliable delivery to deadline.
- Collaborative, receptive to feedback and proactive in raising issues early.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English are both essential: the role works directly in Arabic-language craft and output.
