Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a customer-focused Golf Operations Assistant to greet members and guests, assist at bag drop, and provide accurate information on tee times and course rules. You will prepare and maintain golf carts, stock essentials, and keep the cart barn and practice areas organized.

The role involves on-course support, tournament setup, and events, with emphasis on safety, etiquette, and premium service. Outdoor work and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic service experience is valued.
• Prior customer service or golf operations experience is a plus.
• Physically capable of lifting golf bags and performing active duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Assist at bag drop, loading/unloading golf bags with care.
• Provide tee time, course rules, and facility information accurately.
• Prepare and stage golf carts stocked with scorecards, tees, and GPS.
• Maintain cart barn and bag storage areas; keep facilities organized.
• Support range setup and upkeep; monitor ball supply and cleanliness.
• Serve as starter or on-course assistant, managing tee time flow.
• Assist with tournaments and events; communicate feedback to staff.
• Uphold golf etiquette; ensure safety and Troon service standards.

Job description

• Greet all members and guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression and lasting experience.
• Provide prompt assistance at the bag drop, including loading and unloading golf bags, with attention to care and personalized service.
• Offer information on tee times, course rules, club policies, and general facility knowledge with accuracy and courtesy.
• Prepare and stage golf carts prior to play, ensuring they are fully stocked with scorecards, tees, towels, pencils, and GPS systems.
• Clean, sanitize, and park golf carts after use, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and functionality.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cart barn, staging area, and bag storage facilities.
• Set up and maintain the driving range, short game area, and practice greens, including ball collection, basket stocking, and hitting station upkeep.
• Monitor ball supply and range cleanliness throughout the day, ensuring a premium practice environment at all times.
• Serve as a starter or on-course player assistant when scheduled, managing tee time flow, enforcing pace of play, and upholding golf etiquette.
• Provide assistance and information to players on-course, always representing the club in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with tournament setup and breakdown, including signage, cart staging, range setup, and scoring coordination as needed.
• Support special events and outings by ensuring the highest level of readiness and service across all operational touchpoints.
• Communicate member and guest feedback, safety concerns, or equipment/facility issues promptly to the PGA Professional or Head of Golf.
• Adhere to all club safety standards, operational procedures, and Troon service expectations.
• Outdoor work on the golf course, exposed to different weather conditions.
• Availability on weekends and public holidays, depending on the golf schedule.

Ability to lift golf bags, operate equipment, and perform physically active duties.

• Customer Service Skills, friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor when dealing with guests and members
• Communication Skills, clear verbal communication for providing information and handling guest inquiries
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service or golf operations is an asset.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of the game of golf and golf course etiquette is a plus.
