Job summary
Van Oord is seeking a Project Purchaser in Dubai to lead procurement of technical materials and services for global projects. You will collaborate with project teams, Transport and Finance, reporting to the Team Manager Project Procurement DRI.
The role requires a proactive, stress-resistant professional who can initiate improvements, manage supplier relationships and ensure timely purchasing in a dynamic international environment.
Qualifications
- English language fluency (verbal & written)
- Excellent communication, persuasive and results oriented
- Hands-on, service-oriented mentality, takes ownership
- Willingness to travel and visit UAE projects occasionally
- Knowledge of Logistics and Incoterms is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Procure a wide variety of materials & services for projects in prep and execution phases
- Handle quotation requests, offers and purchase orders efficiently and on time
- Provide global PO admin support and follow up on open POs
- Maintain and distribute purchasing registers
- Negotiate prices and terms; follow up on invoicing of delivered goods
- Expedite RFQs, orders and overdue deliveries; support global P2P improvements
- Provide basic technical support of purchasing systems to offices and projects
