Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, analysis, and design for major infrastructure and development projects.

You will oversee foundation systems, ground improvement, slope stability, and coordination with civil, structural, and construction teams. A degree in geotechnical or related engineering and strong leadership, communication, and technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Geotechnical/Civil/Geological Engineering or related field.
• Proven geotechnical engineering experience including foundation design and ground investigation.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, slope stability, ground improvement, excavation.
• Experience with large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional accreditation (PE/Chartered Engineer) is an advantage.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, and technical planning.
• Oversee foundation systems, excavation, retaining structures, slope stability, ground improvement, and earthworks.
• Review geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, and construction teams, as well as contractors and consultants.
• Assess ground conditions, geotechnical risks, settlement, stability, and construction challenges.
• Ensure projects comply with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, quality, safety, cost, and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor geotechnical engineers and project teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, foundation design, ground investigation, or a senior engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, retaining systems, excavation, and ground improvement.
• Proficient in PLAXIS, Geo Studio, Auto CAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant engineering software.
• Strong technical, analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing large-scale projects, multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Professional accreditation such as PE, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Experience in infrastructure, high-rise, commercial, residential, marine, or large-scale development projects is preferred.
