The role emphasizes industry engagement, collaboration with government and professional bodies, and leadership in curriculum development and accreditation processes at UOWD.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–4 years of teaching geotechnical engineering at undergraduate/postgraduate level.
• Evidence of impactful research with highly cited publications.
• Successful securing of research grants or industrial contracts.
• Experience supervising Higher Degree Research students.
• Strong laboratory and field-testing expertise.
• Strong communication skills with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate geotechnical teaching.
• Develop and lead an independent geotechnical research programme.
• Supervise Master’s dissertations and PhD theses.
• Pursue externally funded, industry-connected research and collaboration.
• Contribute to accreditation, governance and engineering education development.
