Job summary

Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara is seeking a skilled and reliable General Technician to support maintenance operations at our staff accommodation. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across buildings, attend electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, AC tasks, and ensure a safe, comfortable living environment for team members.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in general maintenance and building services.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, AC, painting and carpentry basics.
• Experience in staff accommodation, hotel, resort, or residential property maintenance preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Safety-conscious with a reliable work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to live and work in a remote resort location.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance across staff accommodation buildings.
• Attend maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, AC, and general maintenance.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform AC cleaning, basic servicing, and preventive maintenance as required.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs, plumbing works, painting, and other general maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance complaints and emergencies raised by Team Members.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to an acceptable standard.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance materials properly.
• Report major defects, equipment failures, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Support contractors and specialized technicians when required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas after completing tasks.
• Follow all company health, safety, hygiene, and accommodation policies and procedures.
• Be flexible to work in a remote location and support the accommodation team based on operational requirements.
