Role Context

The French Teacher - British Curriculum will be responsible for planning and delivering French lessons that align with British Curriculum expectations and student learning needs. The role requires a confident, organised, student‑focused language educator who can create an interactive classroom environment, monitor progress, support different learning abilities, and encourage students to build confidence in French language learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach French language lessons in line with British Curriculum standards and school academic expectations.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, assessments, and learning resources for effective French language instruction.
• Encourage students to use French confidently through conversation practice, role‑play, reading tasks, writing activities, and interactive learning.
• Adapt teaching methods to support different student abilities, learning styles, and language levels.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve fluency, accuracy, and confidence.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, internal evaluations, projects, and curriculum‑based language activities.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Promote appreciation of French language, communication skills and Francophone culture.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, assessment results, and classroom performance.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, colleagues and school leadership regarding learning progress and academic support.
• Participate in department meetings, school activities, language events and academic improvement initiatives.
• Follow school policies related to safeguarding, inclusion, student wellbeing and professional conduct.

Ideal Profile

• Master’s degree in French Language or a closely related field.

• 1‑2 years of UAE teaching experience (required).
• Previous experience in a British Curriculum school (preferred).
