Job summary

Khidmah is seeking an FM Engineer to oversee the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of retail facilities in the UAE. The role covers MEP systems, preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor coordination, and day‑to‑day facilities operations.

You will coordinate with retail tenants and mall management, review maintenance reports, monitor contractor performance, and drive energy-saving initiatives while ensuring compliance with HSE standards and UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Facilities Management, preferably in the UAE.
• Hands-on with MEP systems and building services.
• Experience coordinating contractors, FM providers, and technical teams.
• Retail/facilities experience in malls or supermarkets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation and maintenance of retail facilities.
• Supervise MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety).
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance as scheduled.
• Monitor service providers and contractor performance against SLAs/KPIs.
• Coordinate with tenants, mall management, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review maintenance reports, work orders, and service records.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with planned maintenance, refurbishment, and minor projects.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, authority requirements, and policies.

The FM Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of retail facilities. The role focuses on MEP systems, preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor coordination, technical inspections, documentation, and day-to-day facilities operations. The position requires strong retail experience and the ability to respond effectively to operational and technical requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of retail facilities.
• Supervise and coordinate MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and other building services.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are completed as per schedule.
• Monitor the performance of FM service providers, contractors, and technicians.
• Attend to breakdowns, technical issues, and emergency maintenance requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify maintenance and safety issues.
• Ensure all facilities are maintained in accordance with required HSE, quality, and operational standards.
• Coordinate with retail tenants, mall management, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review maintenance reports, work orders, and service records.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with SLA/KPI requirements.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, maintenance activities, inspections, and technical documentation.
• Assist with planned maintenance, refurbishment, fit-out, and minor project activities when required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UAE regulations, authority requirements, and company policies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related disciplines

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Facilities Management, preferably within the UAE
• Strong hands-on experience in retail facilities, malls, shopping centres, retail outlets, or similar commercial environments
• Hands-on experience with MEP systems and building services
Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and breakdown management
• Experience coordinating contractors, FM service providers, and technical teams
• Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment with multiple stakeholders
