Role Context The Fire Alarm Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating daily fire alarm activities across maintenance, testing, commissioning and project work. The position combines technical troubleshooting with site leadership, requiring the supervisor to keep assigned tasks on schedule while maintaining system reliability and regulatory compliance. The role also serves as a key coordination point between technical teams, clients, consultants, main contractors and relevant authorities. Effective supervision will help ensure that fire detection systems are properly installed, tested, documented and handed over in accordance with approved requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor assigned fire alarm works and ensure tasks are completed according to agreed schedules.
  • Supervise fire alarm technicians and helpers during installation, maintenance and testing activities.
  • Allocate daily assignments based on site priorities, technical requirements and available manpower.
  • Provide practical guidance to technicians during troubleshooting and system rectification.
  • Manage multiple active work locations while maintaining visibility of progress and outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out or supervise fire alarm panel programming where required.
  • Diagnose system faults involving loops, modules, detectors, sounders, interfaces and control panels.
  • Verify correct device addressing and communication within addressable systems.
  • Support corrective maintenance and fault rectification following alarms, system failures or service calls.
  • Monitor planned maintenance work and confirm that inspection activities are completed within schedule.
  • Review system performance following maintenance or repair work.
  • Attend client meetings and provide clear technical updates on progress, faults and required actions.
  • Coordinate with consultants and main contractors regarding site access, inspections and completion requirements.
  • Liaise with Dubai Civil Defense and Hassantuk-related requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure installation and maintenance activities comply with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code.
  • Check completed work before consultant, client or authority inspection.
  • Coordinate closure of technical comments and outstanding snag items.
  • Verify that fire alarm interfaces with related building systems are functioning as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare daily and periodic technical reports.
  • Complete inspection checklists and system verification documents.
  • Prepare handover documentation for completed projects and installations.
  • Maintain records of outstanding faults and follow them through to closure.
  • Check that technicians use appropriate tools and testing equipment.
  • Monitor material requirements and report shortages that may affect site progress.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed throughout installation and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain quality standards across wiring, termination, device installation and panel works.
  • Coordinate emergency or urgent technical interventions when system reliability is affected.
  • Communicate project status, delays and technical risks to relevant management personnel.
  • Support final testing, client demonstrations and project handover activities.
Ideal Profile
  • Candidates should hold a Diploma, ITI qualification or another relevant technical certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience working with fire alarm systems is required.
  • Previous UAE experience is preferred due to local authority, regulatory and site requirements.
  • Applicants should have strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Hands-on experience with fire alarm programming, testing and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Candidates should be confident diagnosing communication faults, device issues, wiring problems and panel-related alarms.
  • Previous experience supervising technicians and helpers is required.
  • The successful candidate should be capable of managing multiple projects and maintenance activities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code requirements is important.
