Overview
The Fire Alarm Supervisor - Safety Systems will manage scheduled and emergency fire alarm activities across LEAMS Education properties. The role ensures conventional and addressable systems remain operational, accurately programmed, properly maintained, and ready for inspection or emergency use. The supervisor will guide technicians and helpers, coordinate project requirements, attend client and consultant meetings, and maintain technical records to support student and employee safety, regulatory compliance, system reliability, and uninterrupted school operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned fire alarm activities and ensure completion according to approved schedules.
- Supervise, control, and guide fire alarm technicians and helpers.
- Allocate daily tasks based on site priorities, available resources, and technical requirements.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault rectification activities.
- Program and troubleshoot conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Inspect panels, detectors, modules, sounders, interfaces, cabling, and related devices.
- Confirm correct device addressing, loop integrity, communication, and cause‑and‑effect operation.
- Diagnose system faults and coordinate suitable corrective actions.
- Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed within agreed service intervals.
- Manage emergency service requests and arrange timely technical attendance.
- Coordinate activities across multiple sites and projects.
- Attend meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with Dubai Civil Defence, Hassantuk, and other relevant authorities when required.
- Ensure all work complies with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, checklists, and approved system requirements.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure installation quality meets project and authority standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Complete testing records, maintenance checklists, fault reports, and inspection documents.
- Prepare handover files, system records, and supporting compliance documentation.
- Report project delays, recurring faults, access restrictions, and material shortages.
- Coordinate required tools, testing instruments, spare parts, and technical resources.
- Ensure technicians use equipment and personal protective gear safely.
- Enforce health, safety, housekeeping, and permit requirements at all work locations.
- Provide technical coaching and practical guidance to junior team members.
- Coordinate disruptive work outside teaching hours whenever possible.
- Ensure work areas are secured and restored after maintenance or installation.
- Support fire drills, system demonstrations, inspections, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Perform other reasonable fire and life safety duties assigned by management.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma, ITI, or other relevant technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with fire alarm systems.
- UAE fire alarm experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Practical experience in programming, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning.
- Proven ability to supervise technicians, helpers, and site activities.
- Experience managing multiple projects or maintenance locations.
- Knowledge of Dubai Civil Defence and Hassantuk requirements.
- Strong understanding of the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Experience preparing reports, checklists, testing records, and handover documents.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong fault‑finding, planning, and problem‑solving capability.
- Ability to work responsibly within occupied school facilities.
- UAE driving licence is preferred.
