Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and standardization of divisional financial internal control frameworks.
- Work with Group and Divisional Finance leadership to strengthen accounting governance and control assessment practices.
- Draft divisional accounting policies and support implementation of new requirements through detailed technical accounting analysis.
- Interpret IAS and IFRS requirements and provide practical guidance on their application across business operations.
- Advise Finance teams on complex accounting judgements, treatments, and reporting matters.
- Monitor developments in accounting standards and evaluate their potential impact on divisional reporting.
- Prepare and deliver accounting training covering IAS, IFRS, internal policies, and relevant financial control requirements.
- Develop detailed knowledge of accounting processes to identify control risks and recommend appropriate accounting positions.
- Coordinate with Shared Service Centres and Business Unit Finance teams to support accurate and timely financial period close.
- Drive implementation of Balance Sheet Substantiation requirements and perform periodic quality reviews.
- Review trial balances and supporting substantiation to identify inconsistencies, control gaps, and unresolved balances.
- Maintain disciplined follow-up over issues identified through balance sheet reviews.
- Prepare reporting inputs for entity-level scorecards and issue-resolution initiatives.
- Review Shared Services KPIs and SLAs and work with stakeholders on measurable process improvements.
- Track audit progress against the agreed audit program and elevate potential delivery constraints.
- Coordinate auditor requirements with Shared Services and Business Unit Finance teams.
- Support Finance Managers and Senior Finance Managers in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare financial statement drafts and resolve technical or presentation matters with external auditors.
- Coordinate certification requirements including revenue certificates, ICV certificates, and ESR-related requirements where applicable.
- Drive timely completion of external audits and support satisfactory closure of prior-year management letter points.
- Identify recurring financial controlling activities suitable for AI or workflow automation.
- Design and implement automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reporting consistency.
- Collaborate with Group Finance, IT, and Shared Service Centres on finance-focused AI initiatives.
- Establish appropriate data governance, validation, and review controls for AI-generated outputs.
- Develop practical AI use cases with measurable improvements in accuracy, productivity, or turnaround time.
- Deliver training that builds user confidence and adoption of new AI and automation capabilities.
Ideal Profile
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized credential.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant finance, accounting, or controlling experience within a large organization.
- Previous supervisory-level responsibility is required.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, IAS, accounting policies, and financial control principles.
- Practical experience with balance sheet substantiation, period close, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with internal and external audit requirements and auditor coordination.
- Strong analytical capability with a process-oriented approach to financial control.
- Experience identifying accounting risks and supporting technically sound accounting judgements.
- Confident communicating technical financial matters to Finance and Operations stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills for accounting training and management discussions.
- Experience with enterprise ERP environments, preferably SAP.
- Exposure to SAP BW, SAP BPC, or SAP Analytics Cloud is advantageous.
- Interest or practical experience in AI-enabled finance processes and workflow automation.
- Able to establish governance and review mechanisms around automated or AI-generated financial outputs.
- Organized and capable of prioritizing multiple close, audit, reporting, and transformation requirements.
