Role Context
The Financial Analyst converts operational and accounting information into commercial insight for management decision-making. Working across budgets, forecasts, sales performance, working capital, pricing, capital expenditure, and management reporting, the position helps leadership understand both current results and emerging financial risks. Its analysis supports corrective action, more disciplined resource allocation, and sustainable profitability across automotive business activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual budgeting activities and periodic forecasts in line with established financial planning calendars.
- Consolidate financial assumptions and challenge inputs where additional validation is required.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly management reports that clearly explain business performance.
- Prepare financial presentations and analytical material for management board reviews.
- Analyze actual performance against budgets, forecasts, prior periods, and operational targets.
- Investigate significant variances and translate findings into clear commercial explanations.
- Support divisional performance reviews with financial analysis, trends, and recommended actions.
- Work with the finance team on general ledger reviews and help resolve accounting-related issues.
- Process and review incentive calculations while maintaining accuracy and appropriate supporting information.
- Evaluate existing incentive structures and recommend improvements based on commercial effectiveness.
- Help business managers understand the financial drivers affecting revenue, margins, costs, and profitability.
- Provide the Finance Head with analysis supporting working capital planning and validate key assumptions.
- Prepare monthly cash flow statements and forward-looking cash forecasts.
- Monitor financial indicators to identify potential performance gaps and provide early warning of emerging issues.
- Track agreed improvement actions with relevant business units and report progress to management.
- Evaluate pricing for specific commercial transactions and assess expected profitability.
- Compare monthly sales performance with targets to measure the effectiveness of pricing and campaign decisions.
- Analyze inventory and receivable positions to highlight working capital risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support capital expenditure assessments and project financial evaluations.
- Maintain reliable historical financial databases for trend analysis and management reference.
- Produce exception reports that identify unusual results requiring investigation or corrective action.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements and coordinate supporting financial information for timely completion.
- Work with colleagues to strengthen understanding and interpretation of management reports.
- Recommend improvements to finance systems, reporting processes, and analytical workflows.
- Participate as a SAP user and project contributor in Group reporting and system enhancement initiatives.
- Coordinate with business units when financial processes or reporting requirements change.

- Qualified Accountant or equivalent postgraduate finance qualification.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant finance experience.

- Practical experience preparing budgets and rolling or periodic forecasts.
- Strong management reporting and variance analysis experience.
- Understanding of working capital, cash flow, inventory, and receivables management.
- Ability to evaluate pricing decisions and commercial business cases.
- Experience assessing capital expenditure and project economics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP environments.
- SAP experience is highly relevant.
- Ability to interpret large volumes of financial and operational data accurately.
