Overview
- Project Brief: A Financial Controller for Capital Projects oversees the financial aspects of projects involving significant capital investments.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and manage budgets for capital projects.
- Conduct financial analyses to assess project feasibility and return on investment.
- Cost Management
- Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Implement cost control measures to optimize project financial performance.
- Implement oversight on all contingency on project and how this is applied.
- Reporting
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to management and stakeholders.
- Handle all board preparation for CAPEX reporting.
- Oversee all project management reporting in plan view and status updates.
- Provide insights into project financial status and variances.
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to address financial compliance requirements.
- Forecasting
- Forecast financial outcomes for ongoing and future capital projects.
- Identify potential financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to align financial goals with project objectives.
- Provide financial guidance to support decision making.
- Audit and Internal Controls
- Establish and monitor internal controls related to project finances.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during project audits.
- Capital Allocation
- Participate in the evaluation of potential capital investments and provide financial insights.
- Assist in developing strategies for efficient capital allocation.
- Systems and Process Improvement
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems for tracking project expenditures.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial management procedures.
