Job summary

The Manitowoc Company is seeking a field service professional to support crane systems in the region. You will respond to field breakdowns, perform timely repairs, and maintain detailed service reports.

You will also train distributors in commissioning new products and analyze warranty issues beyond the distributor's scope. Applicants should have a high school background with relevant technical service experience, and trade certificates in mechanical or electrical trades are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school required with technical service experience in crane or heavy equipment.
• Trade certificates in mechanical or electrical trades are advantageous.
• Experience with fault finding across electrical, hydraulic, engine and drive-line systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide service-related assistance by way of phone support.
• Attend field breakdowns and repair crane in a timely manner.
• Maintain service reports and submit these in a timely manner upon completion of repair.
• Provide feedback on component failure.
• Train distributors in the commissioning of the first new product.
• Analyse and troubleshoot warranty problems when beyond the scope of the distributor or customer.
• Interact with MCG based personnel on matters pertaining to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance.
• Plans & coordinates activities concerned with investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems by utilizing applicable processes to eliminate future operational or service difficulties.
• Analyses reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

• High School with 5 years or greater of technical service & support related working experience preferably in the crane industry or heavy equipment industry.
• OEM or dealer experience in heavy equipment/Crane background is advantageous.
• Specialist training in the crane industry or on Manitowoc Cranes is advantageous.
• Trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical trades, with a high level of automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostic skills.
• Fault finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking and general maintenance and repairs in Heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes.
• Ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
