Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries in the UAE seeks a Field Service Engineer for Drives and Crane Automation in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. You will ensure availability, safety, and performance of crane operations, focusing on VFDs, crane automation, and motion control systems, while supporting on-site and remote service activities.

Responsibilities include commissioning, troubleshooting, tuning, and maintenance of drive and PLC systems, HMI/SCADA configurations, and network diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Willingness to travel and work in industrial environments.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• System-level thinking across PLC, motion, and HMI.
• Customer-oriented and service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Commission, service, troubleshoot Siemens drive systems (SINAMICS S120/G120/G150).
• Parameterization, tuning, and fault analysis of VFDs for crane motions.
• On-site and remote support for crane automation including CMS and RCMS.
• Diagnose system-level issues across drives, PLCs, HMIs, and I/O.
• Configure and support SIMATIC PLCs S7-300/400/1200/1500.
• Configure test and maintain SIMOTION motion control systems.
• Develop PLC and motion logic using TIA Portal and SIMATIC Manager.
• Configure HMI/SCADA with WinCC.
• Diagnostics and optimization of PROFINET/PROFIBUS networks.
• Perform backups, firmware upgrades, software updates per standards.
• Support preventive maintenance and modernization activities for crane and drive systems.
• Prepare service reports and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to customers and site teams during commissioning and shutdowns.
