Provides specialist hands-on capability in Siemens motor control and motor starter systems. Installs, commissions and fault-finds direct-on-line and reversing starter circuits, diagnoses faults on installed and running systems, and resolves recurring and intermittent motor control issues to root cause rather than workaround.
Work Overview
- Install, wire, test and commission Siemens direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter circuits.
- Install, wire, test and commission Siemens forward / reverse (reversing) motor starter circuits, including mechanical and electrical interlocking.
- Diagnose faults on installed and running motor control systems — read the schematic, trace the circuit, isolate the cause and prove it.
- Build, modify and repair motor control panels and motor control centres (MCCs).
- Work with control circuits and control relays at 24V DC and 110V AC , including timers, auxiliary contacts and interposing relays.
- Select, set and verify overload relays and protection devices against motor nameplate data.
- Carry out continuity, insulation resistance, phase rotation and functional testing prior to energisation.
- Verify installations against electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O schedules, and mark up drawings where site conditions differ from design.
- Investigate intermittent and recurring faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective action.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Liaise with Siemens technical support on component-level faults, warranty claims and escalations where root cause sits with the manufacturer.
- Produce clear fault reports, test records and as-built documentation.
- Work to relevant electrical standards and site safety procedures, including lock-out / tag-out and permit-to-work systems.
- Support the wider projects team on control system installation and commissioning across the project portfolio.
- Provide technical guidance to site technicians and subcontractors.
- Attend client sites within the UAE and the wider region as required.
