The Facade Engineer will support the design, coordination, and delivery of façade systems for roads, marine, and infrastructure projects. The role involves developing practical, safe, and compliant solutions that meet project requirements, environmental conditions, and applicable standards, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
Job Responsibility:
- Design and coordinate façade and building-envelope systems for infrastructure-related facilities, such as transport hubs, stations, terminals, control buildings, and marine facilities.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings to identify interfaces, constraints, and potential design conflicts.
- Prepare and review façade layouts, details, specifications, calculations, material schedules, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate façade requirements with roads, marine, infrastructure, structural, MEP, and architectural teams.
- Assess materials and systems for durability, weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and suitability for coastal or demanding environments.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and inspection and test plans.
- Support tendering and procurement by preparing technical documentation and responding to contractor and supplier queries.
- Monitor façade installation and quality, including site inspections, progress reviews, and resolution of technical issues.
- Help ensure work complies with project specifications, relevant codes, safety requirements, and quality procedures.
- Track design changes, risks, technical queries, and non-conformances, and support timely closeout of outstanding issues.
- Contribute to design reviews, value engineering, constructability assessments, and project handover documentation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in façade engineering, building-envelope design, or façade delivery for infrastructure, transportation, marine, or large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of façade systems, materials, installation methods, and relevant building codes and standards.
- Familiarity with durability and corrosion considerations for coastal and marine environments.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and multidisciplinary drawings.
- Experience reviewing technical submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and site quality documentation.
- Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software; familiarity with BIM tools is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, communication, and technical-reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities across project phases.
- Professional registration or progress toward relevant engineering accreditation is an advantage.
