Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking a warm, confident F&B Hostess to support our Food & Beverage team and deliver memorable dining experiences for guests.

You will welcome guests, manage reservations, escort guests to tables, and coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Hostess or in guest-facing F&B roles preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, confident and professional demeanor.
• Strong guest service skills and ability to make a positive first impression.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage reservations and guest flow, especially during busy periods.
• Professional appearance and grooming standards.
• Willingness to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

As an F&B Hostess, you will often be the first and last point of contact for our guests, playing an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. You will ensure guests are greeted warmly, seated efficiently, and looked after from the moment they arrive.

• Welcoming and greeting guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Managing restaurant reservations, guest enquiries, and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Escorting guests to their tables and presenting menus while ensuring a smooth arrival experience.
• Maintaining an organized reservation and seating system and coordinating table availability with the restaurant team.
• Answering telephone calls and responding to restaurant enquiries professionally.
• Being knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu, operating hours, promotions, and special events.
• Recognizing returning guests and supporting the team in delivering personalized experiences.
• Anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to requests or concerns.
• Communicating special requests, dietary requirements, celebrations, and VIP information to the relevant team members.
• Coordinating closely with servers, supervisors, kitchen colleagues, and other departments to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Maintaining the hostess desk, menus, and entrance area to ensure they are clean, organized, and presentable.
• Supporting the Food & Beverage team during busy periods and special events when required.
• Following hotel grooming, hygiene, health and safety, and service standards at all times.
• Demonstrating IHG values through positive and professional interactions with guests and colleagues.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Hostess or in a guest-facing Food & Beverage role, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, confident, and professional personality.
• Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a positive first impression.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage reservations and guest flow efficiently, particularly during busy service periods.
• A professional appearance and strong grooming standards.
• The ability to remain calm, positive, and welcoming in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good command of English; additional languages would be an advantage.
