Job summary

Arabian Explosives (AREX) in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE seeks an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of the business, reporting to the Board. This role focuses on growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and people development in a high-hazard industrial environment.

The GM will shape strategy, drive revenue and profitability, oversee facilities, manage stakeholder relationships, and foster a safety-first culture across manufacturing, blasting services, and related operations

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, Business or related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience in explosives, mining, quarrying, chemicals, manufacturing or other high-hazard industries.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability with responsibility for P&L performance.
• Demonstrated success leading complex operational businesses and delivering growth.
• Strong understanding of safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and drive organisational performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working within the Middle East or other international markets would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the AREX business.
• Develop and execute business growth, operational, and commercial strategies.
• Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all manufacturing and operational facilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, suppliers, shareholders, and industry stakeholders.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and sustainable business performance.
• Lead, develop, and motivate a multi-disciplinary leadership team.
• Ensure full compliance with all explosives, environmental, health, safety, security, and transport regulations.
• Identify and deliver opportunities for operational improvement, innovation, and expansion.
• Oversee capital projects, investments, and business development initiatives.
• Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
