Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on data engineering and modelling experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering standards or platform teams in consultancies or major banks.
• Solid background modelling and engineering enterprise data solutions within Retail Banking (RBG) environments.

Responsibilities

• Own Enterprise Data Models & Glossaries: design and maintain canonical data models, schemas, and business glossaries; ensure semantic consistency across streams.
• Set Platform & Pipeline Standards: establish engineering standards for pipelines, code quality, testing, environments, and CI/CD.
• Direct Senior Project Engineers: lead senior data engineers to ensure adoption of shared components and patterns.
• Oversee Vendor Build Quality: conduct reviews of vendor codebases and audit data artifacts prior to production release.
• Assure SteerCo Content & Progress Claims: review steering committee packs and validate vendor claims.
• Validate Estimates & Investigate Delays: test engineering estimates and perform root-cause analysis of delays.
