Role Context The Enterprise Architect will establish the architectural direction for a large multi-brand organization undergoing continuous digital transformation. The position connects business strategy with enterprise technology by defining target-state architecture, capability models, standards, reference architectures, integration patterns, cloud strategies, and multi-year technology roadmaps. The role spans ERP, POS, e-commerce, CRM, loyalty, merchandising, supply chain, finance, HR, data platforms, AI, and corporate systems. By reducing technical debt, improving interoperability, rationalizing applications, and strengthening architecture governance, the Enterprise Architect will help create a more scalable, reusable, secure, and cost-efficient technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy aligned with business priorities and long-term transformation objectives.
  • Develop target-state architecture and multi-year technology roadmaps covering core enterprise platforms and digital capabilities.
  • Translate strategic business initiatives into scalable business capabilities, technology services, and architectural requirements.
  • Partner with business leaders, transformation teams, product owners, and technology stakeholders to align technology investments with measurable business outcomes.
  • Establish enterprise architecture principles, standards, frameworks, patterns, and governance processes.
  • Lead architecture reviews for major transformation programs and technology investments.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for scalability, security, interoperability, performance, resilience, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Identify architecture exceptions and establish appropriate remediation or governance actions.
  • Rationalize the application portfolio by identifying redundant systems, technology duplication, technical debt, and consolidation opportunities.
  • Recommend modernization strategies that improve platform efficiency while reducing unnecessary complexity.
  • Define enterprise integration architecture based on API-first, event-driven, reusable, and loosely coupled patterns.
  • Establish reference patterns for integration between ERP, POS, e-commerce, CRM, supply chain, merchandising, finance, HR, and customer platforms.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to define enterprise data architecture principles and governance requirements.
  • Support development of master data strategies, enterprise data standards, and AI-ready data foundations.
  • Guide architecture for data lakehouse, analytics, reporting, machine learning, and intelligent automation environments.
  • Partner with digital, omnichannel, and customer experience teams to develop architecture supporting seamless customer journeys.
  • Enable technology capabilities for loyalty, personalization, digital commerce, customer engagement, and connected retail experiences.
  • Evaluate AI, Generative AI, automation, cloud technologies, and emerging retail solutions for strategic relevance and business value.
  • Recommend adoption approaches based on scalability, maturity, risk, cost, and integration requirements.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, capability maps, reference architectures, domain models, and future-state operating models.
  • Provide architectural leadership across ERP environments including SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Guide architecture across POS and store technology ecosystems.
  • Support architecture decisions involving e-commerce and omnichannel platforms.
  • Provide direction for CRM, customer loyalty, and personalization technology.
  • Influence supply chain and merchandising system architecture to improve operational integration.
  • Work with solution architects, engineering teams, product teams, project managers, and vendors to ensure architecture standards are implemented consistently.
  • Review solution designs and provide guidance where implementations create enterprise-level dependencies or risks.
  • Identify architecture gaps, technology risks, integration dependencies, and scalability constraints.
  • Recommend mitigation plans that support business continuity and future growth.
  • Drive cloud modernization initiatives across Azure, AWS, GCP, or hybrid enterprise environments.
  • Promote cloud-native architecture, platform standardization, automation, and cost optimization where appropriate.
  • Advise senior leadership on architecture investments, technology trends, modernization priorities, and emerging digital opportunities.
  • Present complex architectural concepts in clear business language for executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain architectural governance throughout large transformation programs and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Track adoption of approved architecture standards and address deviations that increase enterprise risk or complexity.
Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor 's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, while a Master 's degree will be advantageous. Applicants should bring more than 12 years of progressive experience across technology leadership, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, digital transformation, or related senior technology roles. At least 5 years should have been spent in Enterprise Architecture or a comparable senior architecture leadership capacity. Experience within retail, consumer businesses, omnichannel commerce, e-commerce, or large multi-brand organizations is strongly preferred because the technology landscape spans customer, store, supply chain, merchandising, and corporate platforms.

Candidates should demonstrate strong practical knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and be capable of applying architecture principles beyond theoretical documentation. Hands-on architectural experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP is expected, together with modern integration models including APIs, event-driven architectures, and reusable enterprise services. Experience leading or supporting large-scale technology transformation and modernization programs is essential. Strong understanding of retail ERP platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics will be valuable. Knowledge of POS systems, omnichannel platforms, CRM, loyalty, data lakehouse technologies, master data management, AI, Generative AI, automation, supply chain, and merchandising systems will significantly strengthen suitability for the role. The successful candidate should combine strategic thinking with technical depth, executive communication, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to guide architecture decisions across multiple teams without relying solely on direct authority.
