The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, Technical Records, and senior management to ensure engine shop visits are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering
  • Lead the ERC Engineering function and provide technical support to engine shop operations.
  • Review engine work scopes, customer requirements, incoming technical documentation, and contractual technical conditions.
  • Develop and control engine shop visit work scopes in coordination with customers, OEM documentation, regulatory requirements, and internal capability.
  • Review and assess Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, OEM technical instructions, repair schemes, and other applicable technical data.
  • Coordinate technical queries, deviations, concessions, repair approvals, and engineering dispositions with OEMs, customers, DER/DOA organisations, and approved repair vendors where applicable.
  • Provide technical guidance during engine disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Support investigation and resolution of technical findings identified during shop visits.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed using current and approved technical data.
  • Participate in technical reviews, reliability discussions, shop visit reviews, and customer technical meetings.
  • Support capability development for new engine types, repairs, processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Support preparation of technical procedures, engineering instructions, internal standards, and technical documentation.
Planning & Production Control
  • Lead short-, medium-, and long-term engine shop planning.
  • Develop detailed engine shop visit plans, milestones, routing, manpower requirements, tooling requirements, material requirements, and subcontracting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain realistic turnaround-time targets for each shop visit.
  • Monitor engine progress against agreed milestones and identify schedule risks at an early stage.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Supply Chain, Inspection, NDT, Repair, Assembly, Test Cell, Logistics, and external vendors.
  • Ensure critical parts, tooling, consumables, technical data, and subcontracted services are available when required.
  • Maintain accurate shop visit status and provide clear management reporting on progress, delays, constraints, risks, and recovery actions.
  • Chair or support daily and weekly production planning meetings.
  • Develop recovery plans where engine shop visits fall behind schedule.
  • Optimize workflow, resource loading, capacity utilisation, and engine throughput.
  • Support manpower and capacity planning based on current and forecasted engine inductions.
Commercial & Customer Support
  • Support preparation and technical validation of quotations, work scopes, cost estimates, and supplemental quotations.
  • Assess technical findings and support commercial teams in identifying additional work requirements.
  • Ensure additional findings and customer approvals are properly controlled before work proceeds.
  • Participate in customer technical reviews and shop visit progress meetings.
  • Provide accurate technical and planning information to support customer communication and delivery commitments.
Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure Engineering and Planning activities comply with applicable EASA Part-145, FAA requirements, OEM technical data, company MOE procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support internal, regulatory, OEM, and customer audits.
  • Ensure proper technical records, traceability, document control, and configuration control throughout each engine shop visit.
  • Work closely with Quality and Compliance teams to address findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety, quality, compliance, and accountability culture within the department.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience within an aircraft engine MRO / Engine Repair Centre environment.
