Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Engineer - Structural to supervise and manage structural aspects of roads and bridges in Dubai. The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Structural Engineering degree with PE certification and 8+ years of construction supervision experience in the UAE.

The role requires strong project management, communication and team mentorship skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and travel to project sites within the UAE.

Qualifications

• 8 years’ experience in supervision of bridges and roads.
• PE license or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of UAE codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Supervise structural engineering activities on construction sites.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure plans and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and engineers to resolve issues.
• Follow up inspections for installations and review inspectors’ performance.
• Update progress for all works to the project manager for reports.
• Review updated records forming as-built records.
• Check and coordinate all assigned services.
• Coordinate with Head Office for material reviews and design queries.
• Implement and maintain QC procedures for structural elements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations about progress.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Engineer - Structural to a supervision project in Dubai. In this role, you will oversee and manage structural engineering aspects of new roads and bridges.

Job Duties

• Supervise and coordinate structural engineering activities on construction sites
• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to approved plans and quality standards
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues
• Follow up set inspection for installations and review inspector’s performance on a regular basis.
• Update progress for all assigned works to the project manager to include in his reports
• Review updated records that would form as built records
• Check and coordinate for all assigned services
• Coordinate with Head office (Design) for all material reviews and design queries
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for structural elements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project progress and address concerns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in construction supervision of operation and maintenance of bridges and roads.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
• Exceptional technical report writing and communication abilities
• Experience in managing large-scale construction projects
• In-depth understanding of building materials, methods, and quality control processes
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel to various project sites within the UAE
• RTA Approved is preferred
