Al Ghurair Investment LLC in Dubai seeks a QA/QC Engineer to assist in implementing the project Quality Management Plan and QC procedures for civil works, including inspections of earthworks, foundations, concrete, roads, drainage and finishing activities.

You will review drawings, specs, ITPs and NCRs; coordinate with consultants, clients and subcontractors; raise NCRs and ensure timely closure; maintain quality records and support ISO 9001 compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
3–7 years QA/QC experience in power/EPC/large projects.
Experience in civil construction quality inspection and control.
Knowledge of excavation, earthworks, foundations, RC, roads, drainage, waterproofing.
Familiar with Quality Control Plans, ITPs, method statements, NCRs, and corrective actions.
Ability to read civil/structural drawings and standards (ASTM/BS/ISO 9001).

Assist in implementing the project Quality Management Plan and QA QC procedures for civil works Review approved drawings specifications BOQs method statements ITPs and quality requirements before commencement of work Conduct inspections of civil and structural activities including excavation earthworks foundations reinforcement formwork concrete masonry waterproofing roads drainage cable trenches and finishing works Ensure civil construction activities comply with approved drawings specifications method statements ITPs and project requirements Prepare and coordinate Inspection Requests IRs with consultants clients and relevant project teams Inspect reinforcement formwork embedded items anchor bolts foundations and other works prior to concrete pouring Monitor concrete activities including mix design approval batching slump testing temperature checks cube sampling curing and compressive strength testing Coordinate with approved laboratories for soil concrete aggregate reinforcement asphalt waterproofing and other required material testing Review material submittals material certificates test reports manufacturer certificates and compliance documentation Ensure all materials received at site are inspected and approved before use Verify construction works against approved drawings dimensions levels alignment tolerances and specifications Coordinate with survey teams to verify setting-out levels coordinates and dimensional accuracy Conduct regular site quality inspections and identify defects deviations and non-conforming works Raise Non-Conformance Reports NCRs Site Observation Reports and corrective action requests when required Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of quality observations and NCRs Assist in investigating quality issues and identifying root causes of defects and non-conformities Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with project quality requirements Coordinate with construction engineers supervisors subcontractors consultants and clients to resolve quality-related issues Ensure inspection and testing activities are carried out as per approved ITPs and project procedures Maintain quality records including inspection requests test reports material approvals checklists NCRs calibration certificates and quality registers Monitor the calibration status of measuring and testing equipment used for civil quality inspections Participate in internal client consultant and external quality audits Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements Review shop drawings and ensure construction activities are based on the latest approved revisions Assist in reviewing as-built drawings and verify completed works against approved documentation Monitor quality KPIs and assist in preparing daily weekly and monthly QA QC reports Coordinate with Engineering Construction Planning Procurement HSE and Project Management teams to resolve quality issues Ensure proper traceability of materials inspections testing approvals and quality records Support preparation of Quality Dossiers handover documentation test certificates material certificates and completion records Assist in monitoring snagging and rectification activities and ensure timely closure of outstanding items Identify opportunities to reduce defects rework material wastage and quality-related delays Provide technical support and guidance to inspectors supervisors and construction personnel on quality requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Typically 3–7 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably in power, EPC, infrastructure, substation, or large-scale construction projects.
Good experience in civil construction quality inspection and control.
Knowledge of excavation, earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural works, cable trenches, roads, drainage, waterproofing, and finishing activities.
Good understanding of Quality Control Plans, ITPs, Method Statements, Inspection Requests, checklists, NCRs, and corrective actions.
Knowledge of concrete testing, soil testing, reinforcement inspection, formwork inspection, and other civil quality-control processes.
Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and multidisciplinary engineering drawings.
Familiarity with ASTM, BS, ACI, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.
Experience reviewing material certificates, laboratory reports, test results, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of quality inspection and documentation procedures.
Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and testing laboratories.
Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; relevant certification will be an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office and quality/document management systems.
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify non-conforming works and follow through to effective closure.
UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience in HV/EHV substations, power transmission and distribution, utility infrastructure, or major EPC projects.
Exposure to transformer foundations, equipment foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, switchyards, roads, drainage, and associated civil works.
Experience working with major EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and utility clients.
Familiarity with UAE authority/client quality requirements and inspection procedures.
Experience in preparation of Quality Dossiers and project handover documentation.
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor certification will be an advantage.
