Job summary

ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Engineer to support and execute engineering activities across the full project lifecycle—from concept to handover—while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

The role requires coordination with engineering disciplines, licensors, contractors, and operations to meet ADNOC standards and deliver projects on time. A bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years in oil & gas project engineering are required.

About The Job

Support and execute project engineering activities across the full project lifecycle - from concept to handover - including FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning, ensuring delivery in line with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and Value Assurance Process (VAP) requirements.

The role involves close coordination with engineering disciplines, Central Engineering, licensors, contractors, vendors, and operations teams to ensure effective technical execution, compliance with ADNOC standards, and timely project completion.

Key Accountabilities

Project Engineering and Execution

• Support all phases of project delivery from concept through to commissioning and handover
• Contribute to development of Statement of Requirements (SOR) and project execution strategies
• Assist in preparation of tender documents and evaluation of engineering consultants, PMC, and EPC contractors
• Review contractor engineering deliverables, construction strategies, and methodologies to ensure compliance with scope and specifications
• Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction progress and identify potential bottlenecks with recommended corrective actions
• Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and project workshops

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with licensors, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Participate in project meetings and technical reviews
• Support alignment between Engineering, Operations, and Project teams

Project Control, Contracts & Cost

• Monitor contractor performance, invoices, and project costs in coordination with cost teams
• Evaluate contractor claims and support negotiation and contract close-out
• Track project variations, risks, and trends impacting cost and schedule

Risk, Quality & Compliance

• Facilitate risk analysis, PHSER, and ATR reviews in line with ADNOC procedures
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards across project activities
• Support implementation of HSE requirements during engineering and execution phases

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain project documentation, records, and close-out documentation
• Support preparation of progress reports for management

Construction, Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractors and operations teams
• Review commissioning procedures, documentation, and readiness plans
• Monitor punch list closure and ensure completion of construction and commissioning activities
• Facilitate handover of project facilities to Operations and support start-up activities

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• At least 6 years in project engineering in an oil and gas industry
• Strong ability to coordinate and support multi-disciplinary project execution
• Effective monitoring of contractor performance and deliverables
• Proactive identification of engineering and execution risks
• Ability to ensure technical compliance and quality assurance
• Strong collaboration with project, engineering, and operations teams
• Gain full understanding of project portfolio, engineering scope, and contractor interfaces
• Support timely delivery of engineering and project activities across assigned projects
• Improve coordination between engineering, procurement, and execution teams
• Contribute to reduction of project delays through proactive issue identification and resolution
• Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and compliance with ADNOC project requirements
