Job summary

ADNOC Group is seeking a senior project engineering leader to drive activities across the full lifecycle from assessment to execution, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. You will coordinate diverse teams, consultants, licensors, and EPCs to maintain engineering integrity and governance.

You will oversee commissioning readiness, risk management, and interface with Operations and various ADNOC entities to deliver major projects with technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering is required.
• Experience across FEED, detailed engineering, EPC execution and commissioning.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of ADNOC/VAP requirements and technical governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project engineering activities across all project phases from ASSESS to EXECUTE.
• Coordinate tender development and selection of consultants, PMC, licensors, and EPC contractors.
• Develop Statements of Requirement, engineering strategies and implementation plans.
• Review contractor engineering strategies and submissions for compliance.
• Manage technical specialists through engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover.
• Ensure engineering standards, codes, and best practices are followed.
• Monitor progress and address bottlenecks with corrective actions.
• Support Operational Readiness, Mechanical Completion, and project handover.

About The Job

Manage and lead project engineering activities across the full project lifecycle from ASSESS, SELECT, DEFINE and EXECUTE through commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery of engineering scope within approved safety, quality, schedule, cost, and technical requirements.

Serve as the focal point for engineering management, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, PMC, licensors, EPC contractors, Operations, and ADNOC Group companies to ensure engineering integrity, technical compliance, effective risk management, and achievement of project objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Project Engineering Management

• Manage and lead multidisciplinary project engineering activities across all project phases and ensure alignment with ADNOC strategies, objectives, and project requirements.
• Participate in development of tender documents and support selection of Engineering Consultants, PMC consultants, licensors, and EPC contractors through technical evaluation and bid assessment processes.
• Coordinate development of Statements of Requirement (SOR), engineering strategies, and implementation plans to support effective project execution.
• Review contractor engineering strategies, specifications, construction methodologies, subcontracting strategies, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Manage technical specialists throughout engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities and provide guidance on technical issues and engineering decisions

Engineering Assurance & Technical Governance

• Ensure implementation of engineering standards, codes, specifications, and best industry practices throughout project execution.
• Monitor engineering progress performed by licensors, engineering contractors, and EPC contractors and identify bottlenecks requiring corrective action.
• Promote adoption of fit-for-purpose, value-adding, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure application of state-of-the-art technologies, equipment, materials, and systems throughout project execution.

Construction, Commissioning & Handover

• Review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and oversee coordination of multidisciplinary commissioning activities.
• Coordinate engineering support during construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases.
• Ensure engineering deliverables support Operational Readiness, Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Performance Testing, and Project Handover requirements.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

• Ensure effective coordination between Project Management Teams, Engineering Functions, Operations, End Users, Contractors, Licensors, and ADNOC Group companies.
• Facilitate technical alignment and resolution of cross-functional engineering issues impacting project delivery.
• Maintain effective engagement with vendors, OEMs, and external technical stakeholders throughout project execution

Risk, Quality & HSE Management

• Ensure engineering activities are executed in compliance with ADNOC HSE, quality, and technical requirements.
• Support implementation of engineering risk management processes and contribute to mitigation of project and technical risks.
• Ensure engineering inputs to HAZID, HAZOP, PHSER, risk reviews, and technical assurance activities.

Performance, Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Establish engineering performance objectives and monitor achievement of project engineering KPIs.
• Promote innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement across project engineering activities.
• Ensure timely preparation of engineering reports, technical dashboards, and management updates.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Strong expertise in multidisciplinary project engineering management across the project lifecycle (ASSESS to EXECUTE)
• Proven experience in managing FEED, detailed engineering, EPC execution, and commissioning activities
• Strong understanding of ADNOC/VAP requirements, engineering assurance, and technical governance
• Experience managing engineering consultants, licensors, PMC, and EPC contractors
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills
