Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Technical Director – Energy to drive growth in the Middle East, secure major opportunities, and lead high‑level energy assignments across electricity networks, renewables, and energy storage. You will leverage existing regional relationships while delivering technically excellent projects and strengthening governance, risk management and client outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Power Engineering, 15+ years’ experience, and strong English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Typically 15+ years of experience in consulting, advisory or energy roles.
• Established regional network with senior client relationships in the Middle East.
• Fluency in English; Arabic advantageous; willingness to travel regionally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Middle East Energy growth strategy and business plan.
• Win and deliver work, leading it personally and with the team.
• Act as technical authority and Project Director on major energy assignments.
• Identify, shape and capture opportunities; lead bids and pursuits; grow pipeline and backlog.
• Deliver strong project financial performance, including revenue, margin and cash.
• Maintain client relationships with utilities, regulators, developers and investors.
• Lead governance activities, tender reviews, and risk-aware scoping and pricing.
• Direct multidisciplinary workstreams across transmission, renewables, storage, grid integration and advisory.
• Provide independent technical review and assurance on complex studies and designs.
• Mentor and develop technical talent; support accreditation and senior roles.
• Represent GHD publicly as a thought leader and engage with industry forums.
