Job summary

Taylor Root is seeking a Legal Counsel in Abu Dhabi to support a major energy company’s legal team across corporate, commercial, regulatory and contentious matters. The role offers direct engagement with management and operational stakeholders in a large industrial setting.

You will handle contracts, tenders, licensing, litigation and regulatory developments while guiding internal legal resources and records management. English fluency is essential; Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent recognised qualification.
• At least six years’ legal practice and advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, contract and labour law.
• Thorough understanding of UAE/Abu Dhabi legal requirements and procedures.
• Fluent English with good communication and influencing skills; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice to senior and line management on regulatory and commercial issues.
• Review corporate and commercial contracts, tenders, bank guarantees and insurance.
• Support management of external litigation and claims, including employment matters.
• Monitor UAE and Abu Dhabi legislation and advise on applicable rules.
• Manage relationships with government bodies, licensing authorities and external counsel.
