Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced ELV Design and Construction Supervisor to lead installation and commissioning of ELV systems on large-scale buildings. You will review designs, manage site QA/QC, and coordinate with contractors and clients to achieve project milestones.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of ELV experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD. UAE codes familiarity is essential; on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of ELV system design experience on large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of BMS, fire alarm, security and communications systems.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi/UAE building codes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation and construction of ELV systems, ensuring alignment with designs and standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Manage material, factory, and site acceptance tests for ELV systems.
• Review design documents, shop drawings and submittals for ELV systems.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning to ensure full operation and performance.
• Act as the primary on-site contact for ELV-related matters and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain QA/QC processes and manage NCRs and punch lists.
• Ensure all ELV work complies with health and safety regulations and participate in audits.
• Lead handover processes and support the Defects Liability Period as needed.

Job Description

• Construction Supervision:
• Oversee the installation and construction of ELV systems, ensuring alignment with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Manage and assist with material, factory, and site acceptance tests for ELV systems.
• Design and Documentation Review:
• Review design documents, shop drawings, and material submittals for ELV systems.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
• Testing and Commissioning:
• Manage the testing and commissioning process for ELV systems.
• Coordinate with contractors and clients to ensure systems are fully operational and meet performance requirements.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact for ELV-related matters on-site.
• Collaborate with the engineering team, contractors, and clients to address technical issues and ensure project milestones are met.
• Quality Assurance and Control:
• Develop and maintain QA/QC processes for ELV installations.
• Prepare and manage NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and punch lists to address and resolve quality issues.
• Health and Safety:
• Ensure all ELV installations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Handover and Documentation:
• Manage the handover process, ensuring all ELV systems are documented and operational.
• Support the Defects Liability Period (DLP) by addressing any issues that arise post-handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in ELV system design for large-scale building projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS), fire alarm, security, and communication systems
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Abu Dhabi and the UAE
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
• In-depth understanding of industry standards and best practices for ELV design and implementation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and mentor junior engineers
