Job summary

MTEC ELECTROMECHANICAL WORKS L.L.C. in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior ELV Engineer to provide technical and engineering support to the project team, focusing on ELV design review, coordination, documentation and compliance with standards.

The role requires strong ELV design, integration, and problem-solving skills, with extensive field coordination across Architectural, Structural, MEP and other disciplines, and ensuring timely project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 8+ years of ELV engineering experience in building construction or MEP projects.
• Strong ELV design, coordination, system integration and technical support.
• Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, SMATV/IPTV, PA/BG Music, AV, Master Clock and parking management.
• Proficient in reviewing drawings, schematics, BOQs and MEP layouts.
• Experience with submittals, evaluations, quantity take-offs and technical documentation.
• Ability to coordinate ELV requirements across disciplines and resolve issues during design and construction.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to project and site teams for ELV works.
• Review ELV designs, specifications, BOQ, schematics and project requirements.
• Review and coordinate ELV shop drawings and as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate ELV systems with Architectural, Structural, MEP, Facade and other disciplines.
• Review submittals, material selections, equipment datasheets and compliance documents.
• Review engineering calculations, system sizing and equipment selections where required.
• Identify design conflicts and provide practical engineering solutions for site and project issues.
• Prepare and review RFIs, technical queries, design changes and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, suppliers and specialist subcontractors on technical matters.
• Provide technical input for ELV system integration and interfaces with other building systems.
• Support testing, commissioning, inspections and project handover activities.
• Ensure ELV works comply with approved drawings, specifications and authority requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to ELV engineers, coordinators, draftsmen and site teams.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering input as required.
• Maintain proper technical documentation and support the preparation of O M and handover documents.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant ELV engineering experience, preferably in building construction or MEP projects.
• Strong experience in ELV design, engineering, coordination, system integration, and technical support throughout project execution.
• Sound technical knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling (Data & Voice), Intercom, SMATV/IPTV, Public Address/Background Music, Audio Visual Systems, Master Clock, Parking Management/Gate Barrier, Home Automation/Smart Building Systems, BMS/GRMS, and their integration with other ELV systems.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, ELV materials, equipment, installation methods, testing, commissioning, and construction practices.
• Proficient in reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, BOQs, and coordinated MEP layouts.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing material submittals, technical evaluations, quantity take-offs, engineering calculations, method statements, and technical documentation.
• Ability to coordinate ELV requirements with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, ICT, and other project disciplines, and resolve technical issues during design and construction.
• Good knowledge of applicable international standards, project specifications, and local authority requirements.
• Ability to review shop drawings and technical submissions, identify discrepancies, and provide practical engineering solutions to support site execution.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to provide effective technical support to project and site teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines while coordinating with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or large-scale building projects is preferred.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning, handover, and as‑built documentation of ELV systems is an advantage.
• UAE project experience is preferred.
