Job summary

MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to prepare and coordinate electrical deliverables for approvals, procurement and site execution.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of MEP contracting or construction experience, with strong CAD skills and UAE standards knowledge. You will collaborate with BIM teams and support testing and commissioning documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical MEP experience in contracting or construction.
• Experience producing shop drawings, submittals, calculations and RFIs for consultant approval.
• Proficiency in IEC/BS/NFPA standards and UAE authority requirements.
• AutoCAD proficiency; Revit/Navisworks experience is an advantage.
• UAE/GCC building project experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, coordination and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Study contract drawings, specifications, BOQs and electrical design criteria and raise RFIs for missing, conflicting or unclear information.
• Prepare electrical shop drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, schedules, builders-work drawings and coordinated details for approval.
• Prepare/verify cable sizing, voltage-drop, load, lighting, earthing and other project-required calculations under senior technical review.
• Prepare material submittals, technical compliance sheets and comparison documents and coordinate responses to consultant comments.
• Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, architectural, structural and BIM teams to resolve clashes and installation interfaces.
• Support procurement with technical review of supplier quotations, datasheets and proposed alternatives.
• Maintain drawing, submittal and RFI trackers and ensure deliverables support procurement and construction milestones.
• Provide prompt site technical support for installation queries, approved changes and red-line/as-built updates.
• Support testing/commissioning documentation and authority requirements relevant to electrical systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical MEP experience in contracting or construction.
• Practical knowledge of LV systems, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection and ELV interfaces.
• Experience producing shop drawings, material submittals, calculations and RFIs for consultant approval.
• Good knowledge of relevant IEC/BS/NFPA standards and UAE authority requirements applicable to assigned projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/Navisworks experience is an advantage.
• UAE/GCC experience on building projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, coordination and written communication skills.
