Job summary

Morgan Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd is seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to oversee on-site electrical implementation for complex building projects in the UAE. The role emphasizes coordination with project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background, familiarity with NEC/NFPA and local codes, and hands-on experience with electrical installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 7 to 12 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Healthcare project experience is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical installation practices, materials, and testing procedure.
• Familiarity with local codes and international standards.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and installation details.
• Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
• Ability to manage site activities efficiently under pressure while ensuring quality and safety.
• Membership or certification with a recognized engineering body is preferred.
• Experience working under FIDIC contracts and in coordination with supervision consultants is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the installation of electrical systems on-site, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, and other specialized systems.
• Ensure electrical works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, HTM).
• Conduct site inspections and verify work progress and quality in accordance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth site operations.
• Review and comment on shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with design intent and project specifications.
• Monitor site testing and commissioning activities, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare daily/weekly site reports highlighting progress, issues, and potential delays, and report to the construction/project manager.
• Attend project meetings, site walk-throughs, and inspections with stakeholders and authorities as required.
• Support the handover process by ensuring punch lists and final testing/commissioning activities are completed to standard.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local authority regulations, and environmental and safety standards.
