Sundus in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Senior Technician to ensure the safe, reliable operation of CNC machines, SPMs and related production equipment. The role covers electrical installation, troubleshooting, preventive/corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, reliability improvement and technical support for CNC, PLC, servo, spindle and control systems.

Candidates should have a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, at least 7 years' hands-on experience in industrial

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years' hands-on electrical maintenance in manufacturing.
• Strong experience with CNC machines, PLCs, servo/spindle drives and motors.
• Expertise in electrical troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience guiding junior technicians and coordinating OEM/contractor activities.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings, PLC I/O, CNC systems and safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machines and electrical/control equipment.
• Diagnose complex faults and conduct root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls, PLCs, HMI systems and electrical panels.
• Maintain servo and spindle drives, motors, encoders and feedback systems.
• Maintain electrical power distribution components and machine safety circuits.
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical testing with appropriate instruments.
• Support installation, relocation, commissioning and reinstallation of machines.
• Coordinate with OEMs/contractors for complex issues and ensure compliance with LOTO and safety rules.
• Document records in SAP/CMMS and mentor junior technicians.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of CNC machines, SPMs and related production equipment. The role covers electrical installation, troubleshooting, preventive/corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, reliability improvement and technical support for CNC, PLC, servo, spindle and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machines, SPMs and electrical/control equipment.
• Diagnose complex electrical and control system faults and conduct root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls, PLCs, HMI systems, electrical panels, control circuits and machine interfaces.
• Maintain servo drives, spindle drives, motors, encoders and feedback systems.
• Troubleshoot CNC axis control systems, sensors, limit switches and machine sequence circuits.
• Maintain electrical power distribution components including MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, relays, fuses, transformers and power supplies.
• Maintain machine safety circuits, emergency stops, safety relays and interlocks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, electrical inspections and testing using appropriate instruments.
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits for hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication and coolant systems.
• Support machine installation, relocation, commissioning and reinstallation.
• Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions to improve MTBF, reduce downtime and increase equipment availability.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, suppliers and specialist technicians for complex technical issues.
• Maintain breakdown, PM, repair, inspection, test-result and spare-parts records in SAP/CMMS.
• Guide junior technicians and ensure maintenance activities comply with LOTO and electrical safety requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on electrical maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with CNC machines, SPMs, PLCs, servo drives, spindle drives, motors, encoders and electrical control systems.
• Experience in complex electrical troubleshooting, root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Experience guiding junior technicians and coordinating OEM/contractor activities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, PLC I/O, control circuits, CNC systems, servo systems and electrical panels.
• Knowledge of Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Siemens or other CNC control systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of LOTO, electrical safety, preventive/corrective maintenance and equipment reliability.
• SAP or computerized maintenance management system experience is preferred.
