Job summary

GHD in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Energy team, focusing on power generation, transmission and distribution projects. You will design, develop and integrate electrical systems, analyze networks, and contribute to renewables integration while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer status or eligibility for such recognition.
• Extensive experience in power system analysis design and optimisation.
• Proficiency in PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP.
• Strong understanding of network planning principles and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive power system designs.
• Conducting power system studies including load flow, short circuit and transient stability analysis.
• Designing and implementing protection and control schemes for reliability and security.
• Evaluating equipment specifications such as transformers, switchgear and generators.
• Participating in renewable energy projects including solar, wind and energy storage integration.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborating with clients to understand challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
• Developing relationships with clients and supporting tenders and bids.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory advancements.
