Job summary

GHD is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Abu Dhabi to design and develop electrical systems that meet project specs and local regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering and 4+ years’ UAE experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. Knowledge of DEWA/ADDC standards and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
4+ years of UAE electrical design experience preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design software.
Familiarity with DEWA and UAE regulatory standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, earthing, and lightning protection.
Prepare detailed drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
Conduct electrical calculations: load analysis, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop, and cable sizing.
Ensure compliance with DEWA, ADDC, UAE Fire Code, and other authority requirements.
Coordinate with MEPT, architectural, and infrastructure disciplines during design phases.
Support tender documentation and technical specifications.
Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure design integrity and execution.
