The Electrical Engineer will support the planning and design of dry utilities that enable large infrastructure and urban development projects to function safely and reliably. The position covers electrical distribution, telecommunications networks, utility corridors, and roadway lighting, requiring careful coordination between authority requirements, masterplans, detailed engineering, and the physical constraints created by other infrastructure systems. The engineer will contribute throughout the design lifecycle, from early concept and corridor planning through detailed calculations, drawings, reports, and IFC documentation. Effective delivery depends on balancing technical requirements with road geometry, wet utilities, landscape works, buildings, transportation systems, and utility authority standards.
Candidates should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess a strong infrastructure engineering background with practical experience in dry utilities and electrical network design. A thorough understanding of authority requirements in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia is particularly important. Applicants should be familiar with the technical and approval considerations governing major infrastructure projects across these markets. The role requires experience progressing infrastructure designs from concept masterplanning through detailed engineering and IFC stages. Candidates should understand primary substations, distribution substations, pocket substations, EHV and HV corridors, 33kV networks, LV distribution, feeder pillars, and service turrets. Practical capability in telecommunications infrastructure is also expected, including duct networks, manholes, and GSM coverage requirements. Applicants should be comfortable performing electrical and lighting calculations, preparing single line diagrams and load schedules, and producing clear engineering reports. Success in the position will depend on strong multidisciplinary coordination skills because electrical and telecommunications infrastructure must be integrated with roads, transportation, wet utilities, landscape, and building requirements.
