Job summary

KEO is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Dubai, UAE team. The role focuses on on-site supervision and technical support for electrical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and contract specifications.

The successful candidate will oversee electrical system design and implementation, coordinate with utilities, review drawings, conduct site inspections, and provide guidance to the construction team on electrical matters.

Qualifications

• 10 years of work experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience gained from Infrastructure/Landscaping projects in Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting).
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and contract specs.
• Coordinate with national utilities to ensure timely connections.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for quality and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and safety on site.
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams on electrical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Dubai, UAE.

The position is responsible for providing on-site supervision and technical support for all electrical engineering aspects of the project. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and contract specifications.

We envisage success in this role to include;

• Overseeing the design and implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and any other relevant electrical installations.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations in the country where the project is located.
• Coordinating with national utility providers (electricity, water, gas, etc.) to ensure smooth and timely connections. This includes liaising with utility companies, reviewing their connection procedures, and ensuring compliance with their requirements.
• Reviewing and approving electrical shop drawings and material submittals from contractors and subcontractors to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor the progress of electrical works and ensure adherence to approved plans and schedules.
• Inspecting and testing electrical installations at various stages of construction, including but not limited to: wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and grounding systems.
• Investigating and resolving any electrical-related issues or defects that arise during construction, including coordination with contractors to rectify any deficiencies.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed records of all electrical inspections, tests, and non-conformances.
• Ensuring the safety of all electrical work on site. This includes implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any safety hazards identified.
• Providing technical support and guidance to the construction team on all electrical-related matters. This may include answering technical questions, resolving design conflicts, and assisting with the interpretation of electrical drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience gained from working on Infrastructure/Landscaping related projects in Dubai is being looked for.
