Job summary

KEO International Consultants is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer for our Abu Dhabi, UAE team. The role oversees on-site mechanical works, ensuring compliance with approved designs, standards and local authority regulations.

Ideal candidates will have 12+ years in mechanical engineering and experience on large-scale mixed-use UAE projects. The position requires coordination with contractors, regular site inspections, and reporting on progress and quality.

Qualifications

  • 12 years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experience on large-scale mixed-use UAE projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all mechanical works on-site, ensuring compliance with designs, standards and regulations.
  • Monitor, inspect, and supervise HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and equipment installations.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and proposals for compliance.
  • Conduct site inspections and issue NCRs/SORs to maintain quality.
  • Coordinate with contractor and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in progress and technical meetings and coordination workshops.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress and quality reports.
  • Verify quantities for mechanical works to support payments.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, test results, RFIs, and correspondence.
  • Witness testing, commissioning, and balancing of systems.
  • Ensure systems meet performance requirements and UAE standards.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The position responsible for overseeing all mechanical works on-site, ensuring that construction activities comply with approved designs, standards, specifications, and local authority regulations.

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Monitor, inspect, and supervise all mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and mechanical equipment installations.
  • Review contractors’ shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and issue NCRs/SORs when required to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure that installations conform to approved IFC drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with the contractor, client representatives, and other engineering disciplines to resolve site-related technical issues.
  • Participate in progress meetings, technical meetings, and coordination workshops.
  • Provide timely input and recommendations to support smooth site operations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on mechanical works progress and quality issues.
  • Verify and validate quantities for mechanical works to support payment certificates.
  • Maintain proper documentation of site inspections, test results, RFIs, and correspondence.
  • Supervise and witness testing, commissioning, and balancing of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
  • Ensure all systems meet the project’s performance requirements and UAE authority standards.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience gained from working on Large-scale Mixed-use (villas/ apartments) project in UAE is being looked for.
