Job summary

MEP LEADERS ENGINEERING SERVICES L.L.C. in Dubai is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver full electrical building services across the project lifecycle, from concept through site supervision to commissioning.

The role requires strong Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD skills, DM/DEWA approvals, and hands-on on-site experience in the UAE. You will work with a diverse team to ensure zero-clash BIM models and compliant installations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to take a project from Concept through detailed design to final execution drawings and on-site supervision.
• Strong hands-on experience in on-site engineering supervision and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical designs from scratch for various building types (concept to IFC & shop drawings).
• Lead site supervision, field engineering, and quality assurance inspections.
• Design comprehensive building electrical systems (Power, Lighting, LV, Telecom, Data, Fire Alarm, CCTV, etc.).
• Prepare and validate detailed design drawings, shop drawings, and SLDs.
• Manage and secure fast-track approvals from local authorities (DEWA, DM, Trakhees, etc.).
• Perform advanced engineering calculations and ensure compliance using industry software.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and Architectural disciplines for zero-clash BIM models.

Role Description

The Electrical Design Engineer (DM / DEWA / Trakhees Approved) is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is a high-responsibility position where the engineer is expected to work independently as a stand-alone professional, taking full ownership of comprehensive building electrical engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle—from concept and detailed design to installation oversight, site supervision, hand-over, and final commissioning.

The role involves developing full electrical building services - including load calculations, power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage (LV) & structured cabling systems (Telephone, Data/Internet, Telecom, Fire Alarm, Voice Evacuation, CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, and Home Automation/BMS) - in strict accordance with DM, DEWA, Trakhees, and UAE Civil Defense codes.

Daily work includes preparing high-precision technical shop drawings, conducting advanced multidisciplinary BIM coordination to ensure zero-clash models, managing fast-track authority approvals, executing cost-effective value engineering, and providing technical site supervision to guarantee quality assurance and safety during installation and authority inspection stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical designs from scratch (from concept design stage up to final IFC and shop drawings) for various building types.
• Lead site supervision, field engineering, and quality assurance inspections for electrical installations to ensure full compliance with approved design drawings, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Design comprehensive building electrical systems (Power, Lighting, Low Voltage, Telecom, Data, Telephone, Lightning Protection, and Grounding systems).
• Prepare and validate detailed design drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams (SLD).
• Manage, submit, and secure fast-track approvals from local authorities across all UAE Emirates (DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DCD, DDA, etc.).
• Perform advanced engineering calculations and validate electrical systems compliance using industry-standard calculation software.
• Coordinate seamlessly with Mechanical and Architectural disciplines to deliver zero-clash BIM models and drawings.

Qualifications & Requirements (Strictly Mandatory)

• Design & Supervision Expertise: Demonstrated ability to take a project from a blank sheet (Concept) through detailed design to final execution drawings, combined with strong hands-on experience in on-site engineering supervision and inspection.
• Software Mastery: Advanced & Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit (BIM) for full multidisciplinary coordination, and AutoCAD for high-precision engineering drawings.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of solid experience in MEP design, technical office work, and site supervision within the UAE.
• Authority Approvals: Must be officially approved and registered by Dubai Municipality (DM) and DEWA. Trakhees registration is highly beneficial.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of DEWA regulations, Telecom/Du/Etisalat standards, UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, international codes (IEC, NEC), and green building regulations (Al Sa'fat).
• Skills: Excellent technical communication, strong coordination skills, and a demonstrated ability to optimize system performance and lead projects independently under tight deadlines.
