Job summary

Abdul Rahim Architectural Consultants seeks an Electrical Site Engineer in Dubai to oversee electrical works, ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications. The role requires conducting inspections, coordinating with various disciplines, and managing shop drawings.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Act as the Consultant's Electrical Site Engineer responsible for monitoring and supervising all electrical works executed by the Contractor.
• Review and recommend for approval shop drawings, material submittals, technical calculations and method statements.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with Issued for Construction drawings, project specifications, DEWA and Civil Defense requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare supervision reports.
• Witness testing, commissioning and authority inspections.
• Identify non-conforming works and issue NCRs, site instructions and corrective action requests.
• Coordinate electrical activities with architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to resolve clashes.
• Monitor Contractor progress and report deviations from the approved program.
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals and handover documentation.
• Support the Resident Engineer in contractual, technical and progress matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in site supervision with engineering consultancy firms.
• Strong knowledge of DEWA regulations, UAE electrical codes, Civil Defense and local authority procedures.
• Experience in reviewing shop drawings and material approvals.
• Familiar with testing & commissioning of LV, ELV and fire alarm systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and technical reporting.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
