Job summary

Fatherson International in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Engineer to develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems using Revit MEP, produce shop drawings, layouts, and coordination drawings for construction projects.

The role focuses on clash detection, cross-discipline coordination with HVAC and structural teams, adherence to BIM standards, and timely delivery of accurate as-built records; UAE/Gulf project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• 3–5 years of electrical BIM modeling experience on building projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Navisworks Manage knowledge for clash detection and coordination.
• Understanding of electrical building services including lighting and power distribution.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and coordinated MEP layouts.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, LOD, model coordination, drawing production.
• UAE/Gulf project experience preferred.
• Experience with MEP consultants is advantageous.
• Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.

Job description

Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems using Autodesk Revit MEP.

Prepare electrical shop drawings, installation drawings, coordinated layouts, and construction documentation.

Model electrical services, including lighting, small power, cable trays, cable trunking, conduits, and containment systems.

Model and coordinate electrical rooms, LV rooms, electrical risers, distribution boards, and equipment layouts.

Prepare lighting layouts, power layouts, single-line diagrams, and related electrical documentation as required.

Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural models.

Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Navisworks Manage or other relevant BIM coordination tools.

Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies and design conflicts.

Incorporate consultant comments and update BIM models and drawings according to approved revisions.

Assist in preparing as-built drawings and record models based on site information.

Ensure drawings and models comply with project BIM standards, specifications, and applicable authority requirements.

Coordinate with BIM Coordinators, Electrical Engineers, Draftsmen, and site teams to ensure accurate installation and timely project delivery.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical BIM modeling for building projects.

Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination.

Good understanding of electrical building services, including lighting, power distribution, cable containment, and electrical room layouts.

Ability to interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and coordinated MEP layouts.

Knowledge of BIM workflows, LOD requirements, model coordination, and drawing production.

UAE/Gulf project experience is preferred.

Experience working with MEP consultants or engineering consultants is an advantage.

Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
