Job summary

Fatherson International in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Engineer to develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems using Revit MEP, produce shop drawings, layouts, and coordination drawings for construction projects.

The role focuses on clash detection, cross-discipline coordination with HVAC and structural teams, adherence to BIM standards, and timely delivery of accurate as-built records; UAE/Gulf project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• 3–5 years of electrical BIM modeling experience on building projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Navisworks Manage knowledge for clash detection and coordination.
• Understanding of electrical building services including lighting and power distribution.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and coordinated MEP layouts.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, LOD, model coordination, drawing production.
• UAE/Gulf project experience preferred.
• Experience with MEP consultants is advantageous.
• Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for electrical systems.
• Prepare electrical shop and installation drawings and construction documentation.
• Model lighting, small power, cable trays, conduits and containment systems.
• Coordinate electrical rooms, LV rooms, risers and equipment layouts.
• Prepare lighting and power layouts, single-line diagrams and related docs.
• Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural and structural models.
• Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues.
• Review drawings to identify discrepancies and design conflicts.
• Incorporate consultant comments and update BIM models.
• Assist in creating as-built drawings and record models.
