Job summary

workawayeducation is seeking a dynamic Design and Engineering Teacher to join our international school in Abu Dhabi from August 2025. The role focuses on delivering the British curriculum at the secondary level and inspiring students to explore design and engineering.

The successful candidate will plan engaging lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with colleagues while contributing to extracurricular activities. A relevant degree, PGCE, and minimum two years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design and Technology or related field.
• PGCE (Secondary) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Design and Engineering at the secondary level.
• Experience in teaching the British curriculum is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs and abilities of all students.
• Create a stimulating and challenging classroom environment that promotes learning.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
• Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure students' progress and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver cross-curricular projects and activities.
• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance teaching and learning.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and knowledge.
• Actively contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives.
