Role Context

These retail vacancies support GMG’s food, supermarket and everyday goods operations across the UAE. Each position contributes to product availability, food quality, stock accuracy, customer satisfaction and safe daily operations. Candidates will be assigned responsibilities according to their experience and selected role. All employees are expected to follow company procedures, maintain professional standards and support efficient teamwork in customer‑facing, production, kitchen, warehouse or administrative environments.

Baker Responsibilities

• Prepare Arabic, French, Portuguese and other bread varieties according to approved recipes.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients accurately.
• Operate ovens, mixers and other bakery equipment safely.
• Follow production plans, baking times and temperature requirements.
• Check finished products for consistency, appearance and quality.
• Label baked items accurately before storage or display.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain ingredient and packaging supplies.
• Keep bakery workstations, tools and equipment clean.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and production procedures.

Butcher Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, debone and prepare meat according to customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate portion sizes and product quality.
• Label and price meat products correctly.
• Arrange products attractively within refrigerated displays.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
• Recommend suitable cuts and products to customers.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess inventory.
• Clean and sanitize knives, cutting surfaces and equipment.
• Follow meat‑handling, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.

Fishmonger Responsibilities

• Clean, scale, cut, fillet and prepare seafood.
• Follow customer instructions regarding cuts and portion sizes.
• Inspect seafood for quality, freshness and correct labeling.
• Arrange products attractively in the fishery display.
• Rotate stock and remove expired or unsuitable items.
• Provide customers with seafood preparation and product guidance.
• Maintain clean counters, tools, equipment and storage areas.
• Handle knives and fish‑processing tools safely.
• Monitor inventory and report replenishment requirements.

Commis Chef Responsibilities

• Support chefs with food preparation, cooking and plating.
• Prepare ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.
• Follow instructions from senior kitchen team members.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Store ingredients and prepared food at suitable temperatures.
• Apply stock rotation and food‑labeling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout preparation and cooking areas.

Barista Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Prepare espresso, coffee, latte and other menu beverages.
• Recommend products based on customer preferences.
• Process customer transactions when required.
• Clean coffee machines, counters and preparation equipment.
• Restock ingredients, cups and retail displays.
• Maintain beverage consistency and presentation standards.
• Follow food hygiene, safety and customer service procedures.
• Work efficiently during busy trading periods.

Admin Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the assigned department.
• Process paperwork, internal requests and routine office documents.
• Prepare and submit orders for goods and supplies.
• Monitor requests for fast‑moving products.
• Maintain accurate files, records and supporting documents.
• Compile weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Support inventory tracking and departmental coordination.
• Enter information accurately into relevant systems.
• Follow company document‑control and office procedures.

Cashier Responsibilities

• Process cash, card, voucher and foreign‑currency transactions.
• Maintain accuracy and speed at the checkout counter.
• Follow procedures for deposits, till reconciliation and cash handling.
• Report transaction discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Provide customers with information about products and promotions.
• Keep the cashier workstation clean and organized.

Receiver Responsibilities

• Scan supplier barcodes and verify delivery information.
• Perform blind counts and manual checks on incoming goods.

• Process return‑to‑supplier and return‑to‑vendor items.
• Follow receiving procedures and brand operating standards.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
• Maintain an orderly and safe receiving area.
• Follow personal hygiene and appearance requirements.

Stocker Responsibilities

• Replenish fruits, vegetables, FMCG and other assigned products.
• Maintain clean, well‑organized and attractive shelf displays.
• Rotate products using first‑in, first‑out principles.
• Check product dates, condition and packaging quality.
• Remove expired, damaged or unsuitable items.
• Record waste and stock losses accurately.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams for timely replenishment.
• Assist customers with product locations and basic enquiries.
• Maintain section hygiene, presentation and safety standards.

Ideal Profile

• Relevant practical experience is preferred for skilled food preparation positions.
• Basic education, high school certificate or suitable vocational training.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling practices for food‑related roles.
• Ability to follow recipes, operating procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Basic numerical skills for cashiering, stock control and receiving positions.
• Strong attention to product quality, expiry dates and labeling accuracy.
• Customer‑oriented attitude and professional communication skills.
