Job summary

AlFuttaim is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Dubai to support IKEA store facilities operations. The role involves ensuring all building systems and installations operate safely and efficiently while maintaining the store environment and conducting preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in facilities maintenance, a diploma in a technical field, and strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, ventilation, water supply, and fire protection systems.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance tasks to ensure the store remains safe, clean, and fully functional for customers and staff.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to system breakdowns across electrical, mechanical, and civil infrastructure.
• Coordinate renovation, repair, and enhancement works with external contractors and service providers.
• Apply preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance practices to maintain operational efficiency.
• Monitor electrical and mechanical systems including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection equipment.
• Inspect MEP systems and verify system readings against equipment parameters and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and operational procedures.
• Manage maintenance tasks for lighting systems, signage, cladding, building structure, and interior facilities.
• Support safety procedures including emergency drills and evacuation planning.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, and contractor performance reviews.
