Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. in Dubai seeks a skilled escalator technician to perform safety checks, lubrication, testing, and installation tasks at client sites.

You will ensure unit safety, adjust ride quality, and document inspection and safety audits under OTIS standards, contributing to a leading global mobility company. The role involves verifying electrical operations, reporting NCRs, and assisting in installations with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safety checks before starting work at client site
• Perform cleaning, lubrication and testing of the over speed governor
• Check static balancing and adjust final limits under guidance
• Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism
• Assist with installation of door skates and set door locks during inspection
• Perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top through shaft
• Check electrical operation of unit including car door, buttons and intercom
• Escalate safety concerns to Supervisor and document NCRs
• Set contact parameters in controller and return lift to normal operation
• Adjust acceleration/deceleration and ride quality per OTIS standards
• Inspect motor pit and escalator steps for debris and clean as needed
• Test escalator by removing comb plates and ensure no obstructions
• Prepare installation inspection report, field test data report, safety check report and Otis safety audit
